INTERNAL AUDITOR
Function: Audit, Risk and Compliance
Salary: N300,000 – N400,000 per month (gross)
Location: Chevron, Lagos (Real Estate / Site Operations)
Employment Type: Full-Time

ROLE OVERVIEW
The Internal Auditor will be responsible for independently assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, risk management practices, and compliance processes across real estate and site operations. This role is critical to safeguarding organizational assets, ensuring financial integrity, and strengthening governance across all sites.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Plan and execute risk-based internal audits across real estate and site operations in accordance with the annual audit plan
•Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting, procurement, contract management, and site operations
•Identify control weaknesses, process inefficiencies, and compliance gaps, and present practical, actionable recommendations to management
•Review financial records, site expenditures, project costs, and procurement transactions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
•Conduct site visits and physical inspections to verify the existence and condition of assets, and confirm adherence to operational standards
•Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and escalate recurring or unresolved issues appropriately
•Prepare clear, well-structured audit reports for presentation to senior management and the board, as applicable
•Assess compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, company policies, and contractual obligations
•Support fraud detection and investigation efforts as required
•Maintain comprehensive and well-organised audit working papers and documentation

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
•Professional qualification or active pursuit of ACA, ACCA, CIA, or equivalent is required
•Minimum of 3 to 5 years of internal or external audit experience, with exposure to real estate, construction, or site- based environments being a strong advantage
•Strong working knowledge of internal audit standards, risk management frameworks, and corporate governance principles
•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or audit software
•Excellent analytical, report-writing, and communication skills
•High level of professional integrity, objectivity, and independence
