Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead the full HR function for a manufacturing company with plant operations in Lagos. This standalone leadership role is responsible for driving HR strategy, managing plant HR operations, and ensuring a productive, engaged, and compliant workforce.
Key Responsibilities
– Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
– Oversee all HR operations across the manufacturing plant and corporate office.
– Lead manpower planning to support production schedules and operational needs.
– Manage end-to-end recruitment for technical, production, engineering, and support roles.
– Drive employee and labor/industrial relations, including grievance handling, disciplinary processes, and union engagement.
– Implement and manage the performance management framework.
– Coordinate learning and development programmes across all functions.
– Administer compensation, benefits, and payroll inputs in collaboration with Finance.
– Ensure compliance with Nigerian Labor Laws and statutory obligations (Pensions, NSITF, ITF, NHF, PAYE).
– Collaborate with HSE on workplace safety and employee welfare initiatives.
– Lead change management and organizational development efforts.
Qualifications/Experience
– Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field.
– Master’s degree/MBA is an added advantage.
– Professional certification (CIPM, SHRM, HRCI, or CIPD) is required.
– 10–15 years progressive HR experience.
– Minimum 5 years in a senior HR leadership role within manufacturing, FMCG, or industrial environments.
– Demonstrated plant/factory HR operations experience.
– Strong background in labor relations, industrial relations, and workforce management.
– Experience as a standalone HR lead or heading a full HR function is highly desirable.
