Job Title: Chief Security Officer (CSO)
Reports To: Group Security Manager
Department: SCM Outbound
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-Time

Overview
The Chief Security Officer is responsible for organizing and overseeing all security operations of our company. The CSO develops and implements policies and procedures to maintain security standards.

As a CSO, you will have to demonstrate excellent surveillance and emergency response skills. You will need a strong commitment to security rules and knowledge of all hazards and threats to safety. Since you will have a number of people under your responsibility, you must also exhibit leadership skills.

Principal Responsibilities
• Develop and implement security policies, protocols and procedures
• Recruit, train and supervise security officers and guards
• Attend meetings with other managers to determine operational needs
• Plan and coordinate security operations for specific events
• Coordinate staff when responding to emergencies and alarms
• Review reports on incidents and breaches
• Investigate and resolve issues
• Create reports for management on security status
• Analyze data to form proposals for improvements (e.g. implementation of new technology)
• Responsible for security deployment, i.e. ensure all security personnel are placed at their designated positions.
• Ensure time office, i.e. timely resumption of security personnel, proper records of vehicle in the company’s premises.
• Develop incoming and outgoing vehicle checking mechanism.
• Ensure loading documents are properly checked.
• Scrutinize packing list and commercial invoice to be sure that invoice quantity tally with physical quantity.
• Ensure that any discrepancy captured in document is escalated to respective warehouse supervisor and DC Manager.
• Ensure all warehouse gates are properly closed and security personnel deployed at all warehouse location by close of daily business activity.
• Investigate any theft or missing products. Also report same to government officials such as police, follow up on same till recovery is made to the company.
• Notify the Group Security Manager should there be any abnormality or suspicion in people movement within the company or warehouse premises.
• Get guidance from the line Manager on operational issues.
• Manages all police related matters.

Qualifications & Requiements
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience as security manager or Chief Security Officer.
• Must be have experience in an FMCG company or be an ex-police.
• Experience using relevant technology and equipment (e.g. CCTV)
• Experience in reporting and emergency response planning
• Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures
• Minimum of a Bachelor Degree/HND preferred
• Excellent interpersonal, and communication (oral and written);
• Exhibits personal traits of curiosity, modesty, achievement orientation, and conscientiousness;
• Team player that is creative, process oriented, and committed
• Knowledge and use of Basic MS Office Suites (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
