Senior HR Specialist – Payroll

Job Purpose
To manage and own the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely salary payments, statutory compliance, payroll data integrity, and effective administration of employee compensation in line with Nigerian labor, tax, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage the full payroll cycle, including employee onboarding, exits, salary changes, allowances, deductions, leave payments, bonuses, and final settlements.
• Process payroll through the payroll system, validate payroll outputs, and generate approved payment files for Finance to execute salary disbursements.
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian statutory requirements, including PAYE, Pension, NHF, NSITF, ITF, and other applicable payroll-related regulations and remittances.
• Maintain payroll records and controls, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, data integrity, and readiness for internal and external audits.
• Prepare payroll reports, manpower cost analyses, and compensation insights to support management decision-making and workforce planning.

Key Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing payroll in an FMCG company.
• Strong understanding of payroll accounting, compensation administration, and payroll reconciliation.
• Hands-on experience using payroll and HRIS systems.
• Sound knowledge of Nigerian labor laws, personal income tax regulations, pensions, and statutory remittance requirements.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• High level of confidentiality, integrity, and process discipline.
