INVENTORY OFFICER
Function: Supply Chain / Inventory Management
Salary: N250,000 per month (gross)
Location: Chevron, Lagos (Supermart)
Employment Type: Full-Time
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Inventory Officer will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all goods and materials within port operations. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring stock integrity, supporting logistics coordination, and enabling informed procurement decisions through disciplined inventory management practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain comprehensive records of all incoming, outgoing, and on-hand inventory across port facilities
• Conduct regular stock counts, reconciliations, and audits to ensure physical stock aligns with system records at all times
• Monitor inventory levels, flag discrepancies promptly, and coordinate with relevant departments to resolve variances
• Process goods received notes (GRNs), delivery notes, and transfer documentation accurately and in a timely manner
• Liaise with logistics, procurement, and operations teams to ensure stock availability and prevent supply disruptions
• Maintain the integrity of the inventory management system, ensuring all entries are accurate, complete, and up to date
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports for management review
• Identify slow-moving, expired, or damaged stock and escalate appropriately for disposal or write-off
• Enforce proper storage procedures and ensure the port facility is organized, safe, and compliant with relevant standards
• Support periodic and annual stock-take exercises
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in inventory or warehouse management, preferably in a port, logistics, or industrial environment.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment.
• Sound knowledge of stock control principles, documentation practices, and audit procedures.
