Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineering Manager will lead and coordinate all mechanical maintenance activities to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of gas, power, LNG, and solar energy facilities. The role involves planning preventive and corrective maintenance, managing maintenance teams, improving equipment reliability, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and oversee mechanical maintenance operations across power generation, LNG, gas processing, and solar plant facilities.
• Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
• Ensure optimum performance, availability, and reliability of mechanical equipment and systems.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor maintenance KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Prepare maintenance budgets, control costs, and optimize resource utilization.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, industry regulations, and quality standards.
• Supervise contractors, vendors, and maintenance personnel.
• Support plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and major maintenance projects.
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance schedules, and asset management plans.
Key Requirements & Competencies
• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering; an MBA or relevant professional certification is an advantage.
• Registered member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
• 6–10 years of progressive plant maintenance experience in the Gas, Power, LNG, or Solar Energy industries, including managing multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of rotating and static equipment (turbines, compressors, pumps, generators, heat exchangers) and balance-of-plant systems.
• Deep understanding of reliability-centered maintenance, asset integrity management, and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Proven track record in project and shutdown management, budgeting, cost control, and strict HSE compliance.
• Strong technical troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and team leadership capabilities.
