Job Title: Business Development Manager (French Speaking)
Location: ECOWAS Region
Reports To: Executive Director
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving business growth, identifying new market opportunities, and expanding the company’s Gas and LNG portfolio across the ECOWAS region. The role requires a commercially astute professional with strong industry knowledge, stakeholder management capabilities, and experience operating in multicultural and cross-border business environments.

Key Responsibilities
• Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within the Gas and LNG sector across the ECOWAS region.
• Develop and implement market penetration and growth strategies for existing and emerging markets.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with clients, regulators, government agencies, investors, and business partners.
• Lead the preparation and submission of commercial proposals, bids, and tenders.
• Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements to achieve business objectives.
• Conduct market intelligence, competitor analysis, and business opportunity assessments.
• Collaborate with technical and operations teams to develop and deliver customer-focused energy solutions.
• Monitor industry developments, regulatory changes, and market trends across the region.
• Achieve assigned revenue, sales, and business development targets.
• Prepare periodic business development reports, forecasts, and strategic recommendations.

Key Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) or HND in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Economics, or a related field. Professional certifications in Sales, Marketing, Business Development, or Project Management are an advantage.
• 6–10 years of progressive experience in business development, sales, or commercial management within the Gas, LNG, Energy, or Oil & Gas sectors.
• Proven track record of closing international business opportunities, with specific experience in the West African/ECOWAS energy market preferred.
• Fluent in both English and French (mandatory for supporting Francophone ECOWAS activities). Additional West African languages are an asset.
• Strong negotiation, relationship management, strategic thinking, and commercial analysis skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM software.
• Results-driven, high integrity, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage diverse cross-cultural stakeholders.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the ECOWAS region.
