Job Title: Lead Mechanical Engineer
Location: Lagos | Port Harcourt

Salary: ₦2.8M Gross Monthly

Job Summary
The Lead Mechanical Engineer is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of mechanical engineering tasks, from conceptual design to construction and commissioning. You will ensure that all design deliverables meet project specifications, industry standards, and HSE requirements while managing quality, cost, and schedule performance.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform complex engineering computations, equipment analysis, and technical document preparation.
• Review vendor and sub-contractor designs for compliance with industry codes and project requirements.
• Support procurement by assisting with technical bid inquiries, vendor analysis, and selection.
• Provide technical support for field operations, resolving engineering issues through construction and commissioning.
• Lead design reviews, including HAZOPs and performance testing, ensuring all residual risks are kept ALARP.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to manage project interfaces and design decisions.
• Mentor junior staff and promote continuous improvement and best practices across projects.
• Monitor contractor performance, ensuring adherence to quality standards and project schedules.

Key Qualifications and Skills
• B.Eng, B.Sc, or HND in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years post-graduation experience, including at least 6 years in engineering/construction/maintenance (with commissioning experience) and 3 years in a senior or project leadership role within the Oil & Gas sector.
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, CAD software, and data analysis tools.
• Thorough understanding of construction safety regulations and industry-specific standards.
• NSE/COREN registration is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with extreme attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS Office suite.
