Job Title: Trade Execution Officer
Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Department: Commercial
Reporting To: Supply Chain Manager
Salary: 700k to 1.2 M Net Monthly
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary
The Trade Execution Officer is responsible for managing and executing all operational aspects of import and export transactions. This role ensures smooth coordination between suppliers, customers, clearing agents, and regulatory authorities while maintaining full compliance with trade regulations and documentation requirements. The position plays a critical role in ensuring timely shipment, accurate documentation, and efficient logistics management.

Key Responsibilities
Import & Export Logistics Management
• Coordinate end-to-end import and export logistics operations.
• Monitor shipment schedules to ensure timely dispatch and delivery.
• Track cargo movement and proactively address delays or disruptions.
• Maintain accurate shipment tracking records and status reports.
Documentation & Compliance
• Prepare, review, and verify all import and export documentation including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, permits, and customs declarations.
• Ensure compliance with local and international trade regulations.
• Maintain proper documentation records for audit and regulatory purposes.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in trade documentation.
Coordination with Suppliers & Customers
• Serve as the operational contact between suppliers and customers for trade execution matters.
• Communicate shipment timelines, documentation requirements, and updates.
• Resolve operational issues related to shipping, documentation, or regulatory compliance.
• Ensure alignment between supplier dispatch schedules and customer delivery requirements.
Liaison with Clearing Agents & Regulatory Authorities
• Coordinate with clearing and forwarding agents to ensure smooth customs clearance.
• Provide required documentation to clearing agents in a timely manner.
• Liaise with relevant Ministries and regulatory bodies to obtain necessary import/export permits and approvals.
• Follow up on permit applications and ensure regulatory compliance prior to shipment.
Tracking & Reporting
• Maintain accurate records of all trade transactions, tracking report
• Prepare periodic logistics and trade execution reports for management.
• Monitor key performance indicators such as shipment timelines, clearance time, and compliance metrics.
• Highlight risks, delays, and operational bottlenecks with recommended solutions.

Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 4 – 5 years of experience in import/export operations or trade logistics.
• Strong knowledge of customs procedures, trade documentation, and regulatory requirements.
Experience working with clearing agents and government authorities.• Excellent coordination and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Proficiency in MS Office and trade/logistics tracking systems.
